Biking Hilton Head Island is a bicyclist's paradise. This interpretive tour will take a loop route that will mix paved bike paths, back roads, and beachcruising all at an easy pace on a flat elevation. Your interpretive guide will lead you to significant historic sites, fantastic nature based vistas, woodlands, wetlands and the beach. Simply a great day on Hilton Head. This tour includes an all-purpose cruising bike, bike helmet, bottled water, and guide.
Daufuskie Island History and Artisan Tour Join us for a small-group tour of the "undeveloped side" of Daufuskie with our interpretive guides and USCG Licensed Captains. We'll begin with a boat cruise down Broad Creek, through the backwater marshes, and across the Calibogue Sound to Daufuskie, just as Daufuskie residents have for generations. We'll visit several one-of-a-kind places: the First Union African Baptist Church, the Praise house, the Mary Field’s School where author Pat Conroy taught, the site of the Bloody Point Lighthouse, and several artisans' studios. This tour includes: boat ride there and back, golf cart rental, all of the stops on the tour, USCG licensed captain and interpretive historian, and a light refreshment and snack. 4 ½ hours,
Historic Savannah Carriage, Trolley or Van Tour
Transportation to Historic District of Savannah where we will pick up a true Savannah native and local tour guide who lead a personalized tour highlighting the historic and architectural treasures found in one of the largest Urban National Historic Landmarks in the United States. Transporting you through more than two and a half centuries of history, see Savannah as the early colonists saw it. Ride along cobblestone paved streets beneath moss-draped oaks and experience the "Old South" with its stately mansions, beautiful squares, romantic riverfront and abundance of artifacts. There will also be time for shopping and exploring on your own.
Bluffton Shopping and Gallery Tour Enjoy a scenic boat ride from the Shelter Cove Marina through pristine and remote backcountry salt marsh creeks from the Hilton Head to the old village of Bluffton, South Carolina. This bucolic hamlet, nestled along the May River, is a true gem of the south. Casually stroll along the cozy streets lined with moss draped oaks. Points of interest will include the antebellum Church of the Cross (1854), 19th century homes, funky shops, artisan studios, art galleries and more. An additional highlight of this October outing will be a visit to the Bluffton Oyster Company, the last working oyster factory in SC. As it is the heart of oyster season you will view oysterman bringing in their catch and the ladies shucking. While there enjoy a sumptuous sampling of fresh oysters and shrimp.
Gullah Tours Gullah is the West African based system of traditions, customs, beliefs, art forms and family life that have survived centuries of slavery and more than a century of free lifestyle. Modern resort development began influencing the culture in the 1950s. This tour features a pleasant two-hour narrated travel through hidden paths of the sub-tropic traditional landscape of Hilton Head Island. Fourth generation Gullah Family members who relate first hand stories of traditional food ways, family life and the Gullah language, will guide you. At the halfway point you will have a 15-20 minute rest stop at one of the Public Beach accesses allowing for a casual stroll over a boardwalk to view the Atlantic Ocean and refresh.
