Meet Our Outside Team We are a group of outdoor enthusiasts passionate about sharing our love for nature and the Lowcountry with you. You'll hear us on the phone, meet us in our retail locations, join us to explore the waterways, and see us out and about in our community. We are the Outside team and we hope to inspire you to Get Outside.
Capt. Mickey Price is Director of Program Operations. He's been around since 1981, moving to the island permanently in 1993. Mickey has been a USCG licensed Master Captain for more than 20 years. An avid fisherman and hunter, he truly enjoys spending more time outside than inside. Mickey is a member of Ducks Unlimited supporting wetlands conservation, and avid supporter of the SC Department of Natural Resources, and is a member of Delta Waterfowl. Mickey graduated from USC with a BA in Geography and is a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He and his wife Stacey became proud parents of daughter, Ella, in December 2010. They have chocolate Lab named Baylee.

Tracie Martucci's business card says that she is Office Manager, but she does just about everything. Originally from Troy, MI, she joined the Outside team in 2005. She and her husband Anthony have a son, Nico.

Greg Smith is Director of Reservations. A native of Bluffton SC, Greg joined Outside in 2001. He says, "I enjoy helping visitors find the perfect activity during their stay so they can see and learn about the natural beauty of the Lowcountry, all while having fun on the water."

Michael Hodsdon does alot of "fun stuff" for Outisde. Since 2009, Michael has been our #1 Paddleboard Instructor. He also leads kayak trips, works at the Shelter Cove Marina Outside kiosk, does retail, delivers kayaks, maintains boats, and handles children's camps. Michael has recently received his USCG captain's license. He loves his job "because I have the best office in the world, and I get to share my passion for the area with people that genuinely enjoy being on the water." Michael and his wife Morgan welcomed a daughter, Harper, in November 2010.

Kelley Divincentis was born in Newport Beach, CA, grew up in Sewickley, PA, and made it to Hilton Head many years ago. She is an integral member of the Outside retail staff. When asked what the best part of her job is, she replied "...meeting new people each and every day from all parts of the country (and sometimes the world). I like providing service that exceeds expectations with the goal of having Outside the place they come back to again and again."
Capt. Mike Pace
Jean Fruh is a native of upstate New York. Jeans divides her time now between Buckhannon WV, and Hilton Head Island. She brings more than 25 years of teaching experience to Outside, including 20 years as a faculty member and Director of Athletic Training at Wesleyan College in West Virginia. Certified as a Master Naturalist, Jean enjoys "getting outside" and sharing her passion for learning and teaching. "It's a really unique experience to teach in a 'classroom' where egrets, dolphin and osprey regularly visit." You'll find Jean leading kayak tours, facilitating team and leadership programs, and working in the retail store.

Capt. Adam Simoneaux is a native of Bluffton, SC. Adam joined Outside in 2006 as a guide and USCG licensed Master Captain. He says his job rocks because, "I get to go on vacation everyday with some of the greatest people and make wonderful memories that will be remembered for years to come." He and his wife, Lindy, have two children.

Leisa Cram is Outside's Women's Buyer. Originally from North Caldwell, NJ, Leisa has been in the Lowcountry for a really long time. What does she love about her job? "I l ove my job because it allows me to buy really cool things." (And she does buy really cool stuff.)

Capt. Brad Johnson learned to love the outdoors growing up in Watuaga, TN. He says "Watua ga" is Cherokee for "big water." Brad is a interpretive guide and USCG licensed Master Captain. He says the best part of his job is "helping others discover and enjoy the awe-inspiring spendor of the Lowcountry." One of Brad's favorite pastimes is reading about the people and culture of this special place.

Mark Wray is Outside's Retail Manager. Originally from McHenry, IL, he's been on the Outside team for longer than just about anyone. Mark says that the best part about his job is "undoubtedly, the incredible staff that I work with, they're family." In his free time, Mark loves spending time with his two girls and teaching them to surf.

Capt. Patte Ranney is Director of Education and has been on the Outside team since Janu ary 2002. Originally from Rocky River, OH, she has lived on Hilton Head Island for well over 30 years. Patte is a USCG licensed Master Captain, NAI certified Interpretive Guide, and SC Master Naturalist. Patte leads kayak and boat trips and facilitates team and leadership programs. In addition, she leads guide training, oversees in-house continuing education and contributes to program development. In her free time, Patte is a devotee of meditation and yoga. She and husband Steve have 5 grown children and half a dozen grands.

Vernell Dorner has been with Outside for many years as a guide and retail associate. She is from the Outerbanks of NC. The variety of people, experiences and athletic environment at Outside are the highlights of her job.

Capt. Charlie Thorn grew up in New York state and lived in Connecticut, North Carolina, New Jersey and Atlanta (in that order) before moving to Hilton Head in 1986. He has always loved the water and has had 14 different boats of his own over the years. Charlie is a USCG licensed Master Captain with Outside and loves being outdoors. He says, “every day is a new adventure.”

Mike McElhinny came to Hilton Head Island from Pittsburgh, PA. He loves experiencing the harmony that exists outside, particularly on the water around the marshes. He has been a kayak guide with Outside for nearly 15 years.

Capt. Deb Davis joined Team Outside in 2009. She is a USCG licensed Master Captain and a Master Naturalist.

Capt. Boo Harrell has spent most of his life in and around Bluffton. He joined the Outside Team over 25 years ago as windsurfing instructor. Boo has served in absolutely every capacity—from kayak guide to engine repairman, to dock builder to USCG licensed Master Captain, to team and leadership facilitator (and more). Currently, Boo is the Manager of Outside Palmetto Bluff, our Bluffton location along the banks of the beautiful May River.

Mike Overton is President and Owner of Outside. He's the one with the vision and enthusiasm that keeps this team together and the company growing. Originally from Washington, DC, he has been on Hilton Head for over 30 years. The windsurfing school he started at South Beach in 1979 has grown to be the amazing company we now know as Outside.
